Explorer Post 26

 

Are you interested in a career in EMS and other related medical fields?

Explore the high paced field of Emergency Medical Services.

Have you ever seen an ambulance racing to the scene of a car accident?  Have you ever watched an EMT help someone with a medical problem?  Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a part of the excitement?

By joining the Galloway Township Ambulance Squad Explorer Post 26, you will learn life saving skills and gain valuable, hands on life experience working along side of real EMT's!

 

Be An Explorer

The Explorers of Post 26 are young men and women in high school ages 14 to 20, who have an interest in Emergency Medical Services and other healthcare fields.  Explorers experience training, duties and real life 9-1-1 calls that EMT's handle on a daily basis.

Learn Valuable Skills

As and Explorer, you will meet with the entire post the second and forth Thursday pf every month at the Galloway Township Ambulance Squad Headquarters.  Post meetings are conducted in a business-like manner by typically include:

  • Post Business

    • Planning Community Projects

    • Fund Raising

  • Training in EMS Procedures & Equipment

  • Guest Speakers & demonstrations of equipment & apparatus

  • Tours of Emergency Medical Facilities, including:

    • Cooper Trauma Center of Camden, NJ

    • University Medivac 5 Emergency Areo-Medical Unit (Helicopter)

  • Annual training and certification in CPR & First Aid

Explorers also attend community and squad events including:

  • Event stand by's for large public events

  • Public education & safety demonstrations

  • Community blood drive

Eligible Explorers are offered the chance to participate in the Ride Along Program, which gives them the opportunity to take real emergency medical calls with post advisors & EMT staff og the Galloway Township Ambulance Squad.
